Hey everyone, CykaDev here!
I’m actually super excited about today’s news, since it’s a big change of pace and I get to talk about new things. More or less, because I don’t have that much stuff to say anyway.
As usual, I’m sending you all my positive vibes during these hard times! I hope you can use the free time you have to spend some time with your family or to take care of yourself.
Last week, I announced we were done writing the VN after about two years of hard work. However, I also said that there would be a hefty amount of work left to do, and I did not think it was that much. Until the moment I actually started working on it.
Turns out, bug fixing is boring. Doing the same task over and over and over again isn’t as fun as writing a big story with twists and messed up plot elements. I got lost countless times in my script trying to understand what 2018 me was trying to tell me through his comments that barely made any sense. I fought with images that looked like they were straight out of a 2010 320p video.
But that’s it. That’s it, I’m done. I’ve spent more time than I dare admit on it, but after a full week of bug fixing and shedding tears of pain, I’m done bug fixing all the (known) bugs in Seikatsu: A Frail Existence!
Now, what does that mean? It means there’s still a lot of work, much to our dismay. Starting tonight, I’ll be setting up our work environment so that Sakura can proofread the script I’ll be re-reading. It’s not gonna be easy keeping up the pace, as we all have a lot going on, but I still have full confidence in our team!
I’ll be keeping you posted on how things are going in next week’s weekly news, as usual. I might have a little bit less to say over time, but I’ll still make sure to try and make this entertaining.
And hey, soon you’ll get to see more sprites and a polished version of the game! So we can all look forward to that, you know?
I’ll see if I can give you more info with the Concrete Information Corner next week, but I’m honestly running out of not-spoiling plot elements, so I’m trying to be careful. We’ll see!
That’s it for this week. Stay safe and thank you all for being here!
